Thornton Round Placemat – Set of 4

Thornton gathers its botanicals around the rim of the mat — broad serrated leaves, long slender foliage and creamy magnolia-style blooms in layered greens, with a single sprig of small coral-pink flowers rising through the middle. The centre stays mostly white, so a dinner plate sits in open space and the leaves frame it rather than disappear underneath.

At 33cm across, each mat takes a dinner plate with a clear border of print showing around it. A hard placemat with a wipe-clean coated face and cork backing, so it lies flat, protects the table from knocks and spills, and wipes down straight after the meal. The soft greens sit easily with white china, timber and natural linen, and suit a weekend lunch as well as a dinner party.
